In this case, our client was a pharmacist owner. He contacted us on recommendation in the midst of a complex issue involving the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC), NHS and the police.

It was a complex situation which involved careful consideration of the best strategic approach whilst satisfactorily co-operating with all three bodies. Unlike many cases this required us to commence our own investigation to gather evidence to corroborate his account and undermine both the credibility and account of the complainant.

Following lengthy and detailed submissions, all three bodies closed their investigations with no action.

General Pharmaceutical Council defence barrister, Stephen McCaffrey, commenting on this case, said:

“Our client places great trust in our experience and judgement to pursue a strategy that did not, at first seem obvious. However, as each body closed their investigation the value in making that early strategic decision became clear. We were delighted to be able to get the right outcome for them and it demonstrated once again that investment in early advice saves both your money and reputation in the long run.”

Our client said:

“I was recommended to speak to Mr McCaffrey by my solicitor whom I use in previous legal representation they spoke very highly of his expertise in the type of case I presented.

“I am absolutely delighted and externally grateful to Mr McCaffrey for handling my the case and getting me the all clear with NFA. The case was complex with GPhC, NHS and police involved in the proceedings.

“Kings View’s team, and in particular Mr McCaffrey, gave me the best representation throughout and executed each step in the best possible way and outcome for me and the pharmacy. I would recommend anyone to speak to Mr McCaffrey or Kings View for any advice or representation needed in cases of GPhC, NHS or police as an owner or pharmacist. Thanks once again.”
